Meet Urva

Enter the world of Urva Patel, a modest painter who discovered her love for art over ten years ago. Starting as a simple hobby, painting became Urva's passion, guiding her on a journey of self-discovery through the world of creativity.

Ten years ago, Urva picked up a paintbrush for the first time, eager to explore the wonders of artistic expression. With curiosity and determination, she immersed herself in the art world, keen to learn and grow with each brushstroke.

Urva's early interest in painting animals with watercolours led her to join the Association of Animal Artists, where she found a supportive community that nurtured her talent. Urva also took up the role of committee member within the group, eager to contribute to its success.

Driven by a desire to broaden her horizons, Urva ventured into abstract painting with acrylics, and later explored the intricate art of portraiture using oils and coloured pencils. Each new technique was a humbling experience, teaching Urva the value of patience and perseverance in her artistic journey.

In 2023, Urva returned to her roots in animal painting, showcasing her work at exhibitions with the Association of Animal Artists and The Wildlife Art Society International. It was a rewarding experience to share her art with others, and Urva felt grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow artists.

Joining the Walsall Society of Artists was another significant milestone for Urva, allowing her to exhibit her paintings at prestigious venues and connect with fellow artists.

In 2024, Urva initiated the Turner Study Series, a project where she is sharing her passion for the master's artistry with fellow enthusiasts, enriching the artistic community with her insights and discoveries. Additionally, she took the the role of Media Secretary for the Walsall Society of Artists, a responsibility she approached with humility and dedication. She saw it as an opportunity to give back to the artistic community that had welcomed her with open arms.

Artist Statement

Step into the heart of my artistic journey, where the rhythmic dance of the brush and the serene essence of Zen infuse every stroke with depth and meaning. While my canvases often portray scenes of nature, they are far more than mere representations; they are a testament to my fascination with the brush, its movements, and the profound feeling of Zen that embodies my creative process.

Why do I paint these natural scenes, you might wonder? It's a reflection of my reality – a reality that has granted me very few opportunities to traverse the majestic terrains that inspire my work. Yet, every fleeting memory, every glimpse of beauty that has graced my life finds its way into the intricate tapestry of colours and shapes that adorn my paintings.

But my art is not solely about landscapes; it delves deeper into the very core of human nature. It explores our innate longing for the unattainable, our ceaseless quest for the unknown. And who's to say that if I were to find myself amidst the rugged peaks of mountains, I wouldn't yearn to capture the bustling streets of a city or the intimacy of human connection?

For me, art is not merely an expression but a journey of the soul – a reflection of unfulfilled desires and dreams yet to be realized. Each brushstroke and calligraphic movement embodies the Zen spirit, inviting viewers to explore the depths of their own emotions and experiences through the lens of my art.

Step into my world, where imagination knows no bounds and reality merges seamlessly with fantasy. Let my paintings speak to you, inviting you to embrace the tranquility of Zen and the profound beauty of the natural world.
